Inferences and Generalizations help?

The difference between an inference and a generalization is that an inference is a conclusion (hopefully logical) that is based on facts, a generalization is similar but is more global in its conclusion. Compare number one and two, the first one comes to the conclusion that Dan will become a concert pianist because he plays well. Number two makes a blanket statement conclusion about everyone based on the experience of one person; that's a generalization. But both conclusions are weak in their logic.
