What is a decent amount to suit someone who injured my eye and being a jerk when it comes to medical bill?

Did not want to be responsible for it due to his negligence behavior in misusing the swim board as an underwater skating board. When he lost his balance, I was right next to him and the swim board shoot up and hit straight to my eye. Luckily I have my gurgle on or else it would pop my eye's ball. Due to that, I have a lot of trauma in the eye as well as nerves trauma all over inside of my head. Since the eye area has alot of nerves that trigger all over causing me constant headache, sharp pain, unable to open my eye widely, chilly sensation to the brain/head that I had to lay down on bed, unable to preform work or school. At one point, the doctor said that the bruise inside of my eye get worsen and if i don't get a CT-Scan and immediate medical attention, it can lead to blindness. Fortunately, CT-Scan showed no fragile, but my eye needs a while to be recovered because of the sensitivity of the nerves that take longer to heal. As of now, it has been 4 months since the incident and I still have a lot of problem. I've tried to solve the problem with the jerk, but instead, he made a thread statement that I should not bother him because he has anger management and he use to go to juvenile jail. I have consulted an attorney about this, but they said that they were unable to accept the case and advised me to file a small claim court instead. As a small claim court, I'd have to indicate the amount that I want to settle with. My concern is that I don't want to give an unreasonable amount and I don't want to write down an amount that would not be enough to cover for my future medical. I'd rather trade anything to have my eye full capacity back, but unfortunately, I can't now. Please provide me any/expert advice about my case and what I should do.
