This is when RNA is accidentally transcribed back into DNA at a point different from the original gene. It often does this because of conserved combination sites that are similar/identical on the RNA and DNA. These bind the RNA to the DNA as the pair together. This may result in the the insertion of the transposon into another gene. Resulting in a disabled gene and an active transposon.
