I was tought how to Gamble at school by teachers and have since developed a gambling problem. ?

I went to a High School in Victoria, Australia where is was tought how to gamble by a teacher there in cl time and I also used to offer a betting service to another teacher who used to take my odds and give pay be $$$ and I took he's bets, all of this whilst in cl and a minor. I have since developed a gambling problem which about 4 years ago (about 3 years out of High School) I stole a large quantity of $$$ from an employer and was arrested and pleaded guilty to in court, though no conviction was recorded. I am now trying to find myelf a job after going to Uni and getting my life on track but finding it extremely difficult to find a job due to my past. Would I have any case in getting some compensation from the school? Thanks in advance for any answers.
