Why do the religous who do not believe in evolution have such a problem with time scale.?

"how come we don't see it today" is the most common question asked isn't it? These type of religious people have no comprehension of the time scale. If they were able to live one million years and pick out a species to observe--and then observe each and every generation of the initial group of that species for 1,000,000 years they'd see the creature speciating. Problem is when you want to observe the process that occurs over a million years in say 50 years--50 years is 0.005% of the total--so you wouldn't expect to see much. Taking the position that you can't observe something that occurs on this scale--is like arguing that the you should look your whole life like you did in a 3 second video clip of you when you were 5.
