What happen to a professor who got fired because he made a comment about VT tragedy?

I read a Yahoo news this afternoon about a professor at a Catholic liberal arts college got fired because he made a comment about VT tragedy. The college issued a statement saying: "Emmanuel College has clear standards of clroom and campus conduct, and does not in any way condone the use of discriminatory or obscene language." Do you think he made a racial slur because Cho was a Korean? I believe so and one of his student reported the professor to the Dean.
