Where is a good place to stay in Canun or Playa De Carmen ?

I am taking my Mom w/ me and we want to stay in a all-inclusive resort w/ shopping and nightly entertainment. But NO crazy place somewhere quite w/ nice nightly shows and daily activities.. where do you recommend
